Two messages from Sister Wheat in one post!

Sister Avencena and Sister Wheat

Sister Wheat arrived safely to her area and is excited to be out in the Mission Field.  Her Mission President is Pres. David Martino from Texas. We gave out Mission Home Address Cards at her farewell but, the address is the wrong mailing address.  Contact me if you would like the correct one ~ dstress66@hotmail.com.  She has a new companion, Sister Avencena.

Be sure to leave any comments/messages below and I will be sure to forward them to her (she is not able to view her blog at this time).

Below are two messages to "Family and Friends"...enjoy!

Yesterday we had an amazing experience:

After our meetings went quite far on a tricycle (which is a motorcycle with a cart on the side that we sit in) to visit a potential investigator. Once we got there, they hid from us saying, "No one is home". We got rejected two other times before that as well. So we were just walking not knowing where we were going and not having taught any lessons. Feeling sort of down, I said a prayer in my heart that we would find someone to teach. We continued to walk for a while until we saw a lady in her garden. We started talking to her and we introduced ourselves. She accepted to hear a message from us and invited us in. She gave us juice and crackers and we taught her about Lesson One. She has a granddaughter who is three years old and she has cancer. She was there as well and she was the cutest little girl. She told me that I looked like a live Barbie doll. She loved playing with my hair and she didn't seem sick at all. The grandmother asked us to pray for her and was grateful for the lesson we shared with her and she accepted for us to visit her again. The Lord works in mysterious ways and I know that because of our faith, he put her in our pathway. And even though we got rejected three times, it all happens for a reason. And who knows if we would have found her, if we would have been able to teach the other people? God has a plan for everything and if we go by faith he will guide us in his work. It was an amazing experience and one that made my faith grow so much stronger. That is what missionary work is about and I am so fortunate to be apart of his great work and to be an instrument in the Lord's hands. I love being a missionary and sharing the gospel with these wonderful people.

Hello everyone! I am in my first area! Yay! My area is called Conception in the Tarlac City Zone. It is like a half city and half province. I love it here and I am doing really good! My companion, Sister Avencena, are doing really well and are improving in our area with finding new investigators to teach! I love doing the work and teaching this wonderful gospel to people who don't know how blessed their lives really can be from the gospel! This week my companion and I didn't have many people to teach so, we decided to go exploring with a prayer in our hearts to find someone to teach, and what do you know…our Heavenly Father put three new people in our path in one day.

Another experience that I had was, we received a referral and went to it and she wasn't home. Day after day, we went to the house and no one was home, we tried one more time and finally, she was their. She let us in and told us she had been taught by previous elders a long time ago and she knew the church is true and that it can bring her happiness but, she is scared because she doesn't want to be prosecuted by her family and bring on contention. She accepted for us to return and teach her again. This really showed me that God has people that are already prepared to receive the gospel. We just need to find them and have faith with diligent prayers!

I love you all! Have a good week!
